FEEDBACK FROM UGO - Adopted May 09
Je me

FEEDBACK FROM CASSUS - Adopted 10/08

RECENT ADOPTIONS (05/09)
With the arrival of the sun we've said goodbye to some much loved faces and our very best wishes go with them to their new lives ! Babel, Callie, Bounty, Alix, Starky, Kit, Dina, Vodka plus 4 little pups have all left us within a really short period so thanks to all their respective families.

A successful adoption but way too short! This is a UTAH who led us into our support for the refuge, who won our hearts whilst at the refuge and who at least had a very happy last 18 months with her new family. I'm just so sad we never went to see her settled in - we thought we had all the time in the world. She was only 7 & a half when she died. She ran her heart out in the canicross in 2007 to raise 1200€ for the benefit of all the refuge dogs and was adopted 2 months later after 3ys at the refuge. She features as one of the 3 dogs used in our logo.
The following text & photos have just come in from her family who miss her:

CANDY left on saturday and these photos were sent in by her very happy new family that same afternoon! Sorely missed but ecstatic for her.

bonheur .

Meet Tarkan. He came to the refuge when his owner couldn't cope with him in an apartment and though he was adopted a few months later this only lasted about 6 months before he returned. In total this gorgeous dog had spent 3 of his 6 years at the refuge before been adopted by my (Nicci) brother and he now lives a life of doggie luxury spending his weekdays in a small village near Paris and his weekends at his country house.
Meet Vicky. Now also know as 'grosse' having put on just a 'little' bit of weight since her adoption. Luckily for her she had only spent a few months at the refuge and is now a very much loved family pet sharing her home with 2 cats, 2 kids and her owners, Carine and Alain. They met Vicky and decided to adopt her having spent some time walking dogs from the refuge on a volunteer basis. She is now one very happy little dog!
Quelle bonheur !!

Meet Belle. Poor Belle had been kept as a breeding machine and then dumped at the refuge! Totally blind and in a sad way she was adopted around 2004 by Virginia who just couldn't walk away and now she leads a very happy life, sharing her home & her owners with another rescue dog 'Foxy'.
Meet Brad. We don't know much about Brads history and lucky for him he was adopted by his new owner, Josiane, soon after arriving at the refuge. Josiane does wonder if he has been beaten at some time as he is very nervous if she picks up a newspaper, deodorant or anything else, however, he is now much loved and happily settled in his new home. His adoption came about in December (08) after Josiane picked up a leaflet promoting our website from the vets in Figeac!!
Meet Daphie
Axelle and Eric were very sad after the accidental death of their last little dog. On seeing DAPHIEs hoto on an advert they fell for her. Her and no other ! They said "her presence has done us the world of good and we have lots of love to give her" . What a lovely story!
Meet Chaupy, now known as 'Ben'
This very sweet natured and affectionate young dog has just (4/09) had the good fortune of been adopted by Roger and Carol who have lots of experience with rescue dogs and who we expect to have
many happy years with a now, very happy dog. Imagine 3 great walks a day after more than a year living penned up 24/7 in not the greatest conditions. He now has a chance to live the life we hope and expect for all our dogs and shares his new home with the existing family pet 'Harry' - and it appears from the photos that they get on pretty well together!
Meet Curtis
Poor Curtis was so timid at the refuge. He would slink around when let out and do his best to avoid
getting caught as this meant imprisonment yet again for who knew how long. He was the only survivor of a litter of 9 from Livernon and after more than a year at the refuge he has found his new family & his new chance at living a very happy life. His fur was so matted and dirty (there have never been the resources to keep the dogs cleaned/groomed at the refuge) that his usually shagginess had to be replaced by a new, svelte clipped look which seems to really suit him. It took him a few days to settle in and start gaining trust and confidence but he appears very content now with Veronique and her family and their 5 cats.
SUCCESS - ADOPTED!
Unique, now Ulla, is now happy & no longer self-harming - what a success!!

Diesel has just been adopted! His new owners , a french couple from the local area, are lovely and are very used to dogs having had a beloved labrador until her recent demise. Whilst nothing is guaranteed it certainly seems that he has fallen on his feet and we wish him all the happiness he deserves in his new home!

A miracle ! ! One of our cats was adopted (16/04/09) which is such a rare occurance. The new owners seem lovely so this is one very happy & very lucky little puss !

The lovely, gentle, Tina, got her chance, behaved impeccably as if doing her best to impress and left today (17/04/09) to live a very happy life with her new family!

Things will certainly be a lot quieter & calmer at the refuge as young Dixie has packed his bags and bid us goodbye ! This lively pup will bring his new owners a lot of happiness and not a dull moment .
